Research Assistant
Josh Zakharov is a junior at the University of Chicago studying Political Science. During his studies at UChicago, Josh has focused on subnational conflict, international relations, and political theory. In addition to his coursework, Josh is a research assistant at the Chicago Project on Security and Threats, a research institute run by Prof. Robert Pape that focuses on suicide terrorism, insurgent networks, and insurgent propaganda. Prior to working at the Fund for Peace, Josh worked at CPOST and at the New York City Campaign Finance Board, which administers and enforces NYC’s public campaign finance program. At UChicago, Josh is also the Editor-in-Chief of UChicago’s undergraduate foreign policy review, the Chicago Journal of Foreign Policy, and is also active on UChicago’s debate team and on Model United Nations. Josh is very excited to explore his interests in conflict assessment, international institutions, sustainable peacemaking, and the NGO sector at the Fund for Peace this summer.
